Oleana started in 1992 in the hope of creating new jobs in the textile industry in Norway. Most of Western Europe's production has been moved to contries with far cheaper labour, but we wanted to show that it is stil possible to produce in a high-cost country like Norway. We have always tended towards alternative thinking and going against the main stream.

Oleana use design, quality and flexibility as key weapon of competition. We knit on ultra-modern hi-tech machines before skilled and experienced hands and eyes take over and start on the sewing and handwork. We are fully aware of what we want our machines and what we want our people to do. Oleana makes its mark and the cutting edge where industry and craft meet.

Oleana's sweaters and collection always consists of new designs along with those that have been in the collection for many years. This constantly creates opportunities for new combinations and variations. Many of the garmentscan be worn for both everday and more formal occasions, depending on the accessorries. The collection consists of knitted garments, skirts, coats, belts, wrist-warmers - all produced in Oleana's own factory in Espeland, near Bergen in Norway.
